Meredith Holtzman
Assistant District Attorney at Bronx County District Attorney Office
Meredith Holtzman has been an Assistant District Attorney in Bronx County, New York—one of the largest and busiest prosecutor’s offices in the United States—since 1994. She currently serves as the Counsel to the Trial Division, where she is responsible for ensuring that attorneys and professional staff uphold the highest standards of competence and ethics in their trial work.
During her three decades in public service, Meredith has tried dozens of complex cases to verdict and held leadership positions in several trial and specialized bureaus. Since assuming her current position, Meredith has taken a leading role in policy development and reform, particularly focusing on discovery and bail statutes.
Meredith is a driving force behind her Office’s adoption of technology to support and elevate prosecutorial practice. She partners with her office’s IT Bureau and with Legito to design and implement the templates that form the foundation of Legito’s Document Generation Tool, enabling prosecutors and professional staff to generate the documents that they need throughout every stage of their work.
Her expertise in prosecution has been recognized internationally. At the request of the National Center for State Courts, Meredith served as a subject matter expert for prosecutors’ offices in Barbados and St. Lucia, assisting with the implementation of a new case management system developed under an international grant.
Meredith is an experienced lecturer and educator, frequently teaching accredited continuing legal education programs and training prosecutors within her office, across the United States, and abroad.
